ARTastic August 2011 .."Charge it Please!!

Artastic Blog challenge  for the month of August is to use the inspiration from the painting.
                                                               The Playing Claude Renoir

The additional requirements we  were to use a photo of a child playing, ribbon, and a painted/inked background. Here is what I did for this challenge.
This is Jennifer  at 2 years old. She was my busy little shopper. If you notice she is wearing a crocheted tissue holder box cover. She thought it was the coolest thing on earth, she called it her shopping hat.
As for my background , what I did was embossed 3 different colors and cut them into 2 inches squares making it look like a quilt.I added my ribbon on the top and bottom of the page.If you notice I had made her very own credit card.
Thanks for looking, will be back later this month to add all my August submissions.
Until then have a lovely day,
Mary.

Hello everyone ,
I'm back with some more gorgeous layouts I have created for Soul Scrappers. Feel free to stop over and check us out
at Soul Scrappers.ning.com    we have lots fun and challenging challenges.
For instant,  there is Digital, Word, Quote, Technique, Song/Lyric, Negative sketch,  Color combo must I go on. I have been a member for almost 2 years and now I  have my own challenge each month which  is the Word challenge. As I post my layouts I'll do my best to explain each entry.

My first challenge is an Inspiration challenge... Our positive changes.

My Weight Loss
Yes this me in the right hand side of my page,I reach my high peak of 175.
I knew I had to make some serious changes, in order to make those changes I had to think positive.
As of today I weight 110.  My positive  changes include, changing my eating habits and I added daily exercise.

As we move down the line  to my next challenge:
This was my challenge of the month, I did a technique challenge for the ladies over
at Soul Scrappers.
I have been wanting to do for a long time.
Mosaic
It's where you cut your photo into  1" pieces and put them together again.
I know the ladies  got kind a nervous about cutting up their favorite photo, so what I did I made and extra copy of my photo. So I'll always have it.
So here is  my example

Puppy Love
I had capture a special moment of my great- nephew with  his new baby Yellow Lab puppy.
Her name is Pinky. Pinky came from a litter of 8 puppy.  My niece thought it would be a great idea
to name all the puppies in colors, she had found 8 colored collars, so she tell
them apart from on to the other. Smart thinking.

Next we have the Song/Lyric  challenge.
By Shazza
The title of the song was:
"Girls Just Want to Have Fun"

Here is my take on this one.
Here is Jennifer and girlfriends all decked out for a Ramble storm dance back in 2008.
It where all the kids dress up really funky.

As move along to the next challenge.

I had found this picture of Kelly which was taken at 1988.
He was out on one of his fishing journey's, when he caught
his first fish of the season, he was so proud it.

For my last page of July  the challenge was:
                                              Quote challenge by Marisa:
Here is the quote she pick out for us do:

You have brains in your head. You have feet in your shoes.
You can steer yourself any direction you choose. You're on your own, and you know what you know.
And you are the one who'll decide where you'll go.
Oh the places you'll go.

Dr Seuss

It took me a while to figure out what I wanted to do, then I decide to do one of Jennifer's graduation pictures.

" Dare To Dream"

Until we meet again, I leave this Quote:
"  A picture is worth a Thousand words but a scrapbook
page is worth a Million Memories."
