Home for the Holiday challenge...

I'd submitted this layout for our latest challenge over at From Screen 2 Scrap. The inspiration this month is featuring the movie poster from "Home for the Holidays.

Extra bonus points of 6 points
we had to add the following....

1.) Journal in white gel pen..
2.) use the word Home in out title..
3.) use a photo of a family gathering....
Here what I came up with....

"There no place like Home"
Here shows photos of my family at Christmas gathering.
On the top photo i have a photo of my parents.
Then we have a photo of me and my husband Kelly, the next
is my 2 sisters and brother-in-law. Last of all the family Roasted turkey.

Moving right along, we will to my challenges over Soul Scrappers, yes my favorite
challenge site, where I do most of my challenges.

This was Marisa's challenge called a "Cooking Challenge", we had to go by a recipe.
Which in included 3 different patterned paper, 2 ribbons, 2 buttons,
lots of layering, also layering behing the photo.

Here is what I came up with...

"Ms Jenn"
My journaling reads:
"Never be  afriad to sit a while and think."

Next we will move to a technque challenge done by Gwen.
what we had to do was fairly simple challenge we had to use some type of torned paper on our submission.

Here is what I did:

"Pumpkin Time"

I had folded my autumn paper in half and torned the center to make it look like a picture frame. I did some handcutting on the scarecrow. The craved pumpkins I had cut out and added a spider for a spookey touch.

Next we have a challenge done by Shazza, her challenge was the Song /Lyric.
The song was TELEPHONE LINE.
by ..Electric Light Orchestra.
What we had to do was use a word or a couple of words or sentence or even the song title on our page. Since it's such a long song, I just post a fews lines of the song.
Telephone Line

Hello. How are you?Have you been alright, through all those lonely lonely lonely lonely lonely nights
That's what I'd say. I'd tell you everything
If you'd pick up that telephone yeah yeah yeah

Hey. How you feelin?
Are you still the same?
Don't you realize the things we did, we did, were all for real, not a dream?
I just can't believe

They've all faded out of view yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah

Doowop dooby doo doowop doowah doolang
Blue days black nights doowah doolang

Here is my take on her challenge:

 Hello! HOw are you?
This is my oldest daughter Jennifer playing in the phone, then I added a picture of her grandmother. To me it looks like she is in a deep conversation with grandmother.

Moving on to our next challenge we have the famous Quote challenge by Marisa,
her quote this month come from Audrey Hepburn.
I believe in pink
I believe that laughing is the best calorie burner
I believe in kissing, kissing a lot
I believe in being strong when everything seems to be going wrong
I believe that happy girls are the prettiest girls
I believe that tomorrow is another day and
I believe in miracles. - Audrey Hepburn

Since it was it Breast cancer awareness in October we were add Pink to our layout.

Here is my take on her challenge.

As the quote say I believe in miracles. Back in 2010 we had a scare with Jennifer
when she done to a Doctor's appointment and found that she a lump on her breast, all sort things goes thru your mind, thank the dear Lord it wasn't cancerous.

 Here is my enrty for JAnes challenge at Soul Scrappers;
Here is the Jane's info's

When I am pressed for time or just want to scrap without thinking hard over the process, I often head to one of my "often used and always work" page designs. One of these is using a 10in square and then configuring 6x4 or 4x6 pictures and blocks of other size papers (4x4 - 2x12 - 1x12 - 2x4 etc) inside that frame. The variations on this theme are endless. You can swap out the 6x4 or 4x6 pictures for paper or journaling blocks, use pictures cut down to 4x4 or even 2x2 or place the 10in square onto a backing paper to frame the design. It is a simple, effective and time saving technique for getting pages done quickly - it is also a wonderful way to use up paper pieces from your scrap basket.

So your challenge is to start with a design in a 10in square on a 12x12 page and play with what you can put inside it to create your layout. Be creative - how you do this is up to you. Here are just a few the many variations on this theme - there are literally dozens of ways you can go about this.

Now is my take on the sketch:
" Part 2: Sculpture Tour of Eau Claire"

for contest #2

SENSE-ational Summer contest # 2 - the SIGHTS of SUMMER.

Please read all instructions before you start!

The SIGHTS of summer are different for everyone. Some think of the beach or a lake or big vacations. Others may think of bbq's, the tennis or cricket. Here is a list of more sights during summer......lightening storm, beach volley ball, convertibles with the top down, going to soccer camps, wearing summer clothing like dresses, shorts, bathers and thongs.

So for this challenge please scrap a Summer SIGHT that appeals to you.

Hand cutting is one of my favourite ways to incorporate texture into a layout! It is very easy, and the only tool you need is a pair of scissors and a little patience to make your layout more dimensional.

You can do Digital, traditional or Hybrid...whatever takes your fancy :)
Here are your details:
THEME: What SIGHT(s) mean SUMMERTIME to you? Created layout must be about the SIGHTS of SUMMER!

TECHNIQUE: Handcutting must be present on your layout.

ADDED CRITERIA for Bonus points
1. Buttons = 1pt
2. 2 x different pp's (patterned papers) = 2pts
3. Two Word title = 3 pts
4. A Banner = 4 pts - 10 points in total

Here is my take on this challenge:
                                                           "WILDRIDE.
I normally don't do bright colorful pages, but these photos were met to be bright.
So here is my Sense-ational summer SIGHTS.

I hope you enjoy my monthly layouts. Until next month.
Have a Happy Thanksgiving.
